Jack Heavey is a Ph.D. student in the Network Systems Science and Advanced Computing division of the Biocomplexity Institute. His background is focused on graph theory and data mining, and he received his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Harvard University in 2018. His interests currently included learning on unstructured data sets, agent-based modeling, and graph-based surveillance methods. He is currently involved in modeling pathogen spreads with the UVA Health System to maximize patient outcomes.
