Guy Leonel Siwe is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Social and Decision Analytics Division (SDAD), Biocomplexity Institute, University of Virginia. SDAD research provides evidence-based insights that can change how communities make policies to improve public goods. At the division, I am working with communities to use their data combined with Federal surveys to provide insights into their questions. I also worked with federal statistical agencies to use administrative data to supplement or enhance their surveys (examples of projects included skilled technical workforce, Federal R&D funding, Data commons and evaluation of federal broadband programs). I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Montreal in 2021 and an M.Sc. in Statistics and Applied Economics. I have several working experiences as a consultant at the World Bank as well as my current research interactions. Skillset – Macroeconomic of firms’ heterogeneity, International Trade, statistical modeling and machine learning, especially natural language processing focused on detecting trends from texts.
