Bio

Aritra Halder is a Research Assistant Professor in the Social and Decision Analytics Division at the University of Virginia’s Biocomplexity Institute and Initiative. His research interests primarily center around spatial and spatiotemporal modeling and optimization. He is passionate about working with various data sources and statistical modeling within a social aspect. Aritra received his Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Connecticut.

Selected Projects
Through modern data science techniques, we are uncovering the social characteristics of individual and unit performance that drives Soldiers to successfully meet the challenges of rapid technological change they may need to address in future wars. We are recategorizing these data in a social context to capture Army values and Warrior Ethos, such as courage, honor, loyalty, and empathy.
