Biocomplexity Institute selected as a partner of the Joint Disaster Medicine and Public Health Research Ecosystem

The Biocomplexity Institute (BI) of the University of Virginia has been selected as a partner of the Joint Disaster Medicine and Public Health Research Ecosystem. This important and timely  initiative is bringing together top-tier organizations from across the nation, each distinguished for their excellence in science, technology development, operational research, education, training, and policy in disaster medicine and public health.

As an integral part of this dynamic ecosystem, BI is ready to respond swiftly and efficiently to disaster medicine and public health-related needs identified by federal interagency stakeholders. With streamlined access to funding, BI is  ready to execute tasks, ensuring a rapid and impactful response.

The mission of this ecosystem is to establish a robust network of expertise in disaster medicine and public health, and to execute targeted tasks that advance science, education, and training in disaster medicine and public health. Through collaboration and innovation, the  collective aim is to enhance the nation's medical and public health readiness for disasters and other health emergencies.

BI is eager to leverage our expertise and technology, in contributing actively to the response efforts during both natural and man-made health emergencies. Together with other partners, BI will contribute to the resilience and preparedness of the nation's healthcare infrastructure.
