Social and Behavioral Network Science

Social and Behavioral Network Science charts how information, knowledge, social attitudes and behaviors spread through interactions on social, economic, and communication networks. Using a combination of network science, behavioral experiments, modeling and simulations, crowd-sourcing, and machine learning, our research characterizes the structural features of these networks, identifies key players, influential actors, and predicts how information reaches people and affects their outlooks, perspectives, and behaviors leading to collective behavior, identity, collaborations, social norms, and societal events such as social movements and uprisings, and other events happening in the world around them.
