
One Health, Food Safety, Food Security, and AMR-complexity and Tradeoffs

Abstract: Policymakers frequently need to make decisions, but in complex systems, there are seldom easy solutions to problems. This presentation will cover One Health, with a particular focus on food production and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Bio: Johanna Lindahl is a veterinary epidemiologist working at the National Veterinary Institute, Sweden, with affiliations at Uppsala University, Sweden; the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi, Kenya; and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Johanna graduated from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences after doing her Ph.D. working on Japanese encephalitis virus in Vietnam. Since her Ph.D., she has been focusing on her research on food safety and vector-borne, zoonotic, and emerging diseases in developing countries, mainly in East Africa and South and Southeast Asia. In addition, she is coordinating several projects on aflatoxins as well as anti-microbial resistance.
